ABSTRACTThe teaching and learning process that is happening right now really requires more attention from teachers and parents of students, considering the Covid-19 Pandemic period which requires students to study at home. All of that certainly cannot be separatedfrom the involvement of teachers in conveying knowledge. The objectives of this research are: 1) how is the existence of teachers in the learning process during the Covid-19 Pandemic in Lhokseumawe City? 2) what is the pattern of teachers in the learning process during the Covid-19 Pandemic in Lhokseumawe City? The research approach is qualitative with the type of field study, while the data collection method uses observation, interviews, and document studies. While the data analysis techniques carried in this study were: data condensation, data display, and drawing/conclusions. The results of this study are: 1) The existence of teachers in the learning process during the Covid-19 Pandemic in Lhokseumawe City by carrying out their roles, duties, and functions as: (a) learning models, (b) pointers in determining learning materials, (c) providers information to students, (d) policy makers in the learning process, (e) motivators in the learning process, (f) mentors in the learning process, (g) initiators in thelearning process, (h) facilitators in the learning process, (i) mediators in the learning process, (j) evaluators in the learning process even though there are many obstacles, such as facilities and learning media that are less supportive. The lesson schedules, using of syllabus and lesson plans, teacher creativity in delivering learning modules/materials/tasks, and learning methods are still underdeveloped. 2) The pattern of teachers in providing understanding of student learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic in Lhokseumawe City was carried out by: (a) online learning model that predominantly utilized the WhatsApp application, (b) direct visits to students' homes to monitor student conditions, calling students/parents who do not have online learning media to come to school to receive materials/modules/assignments or by contacting via telephone, (c) usingthe lecture method in learning.Keywords: Existence of Teachers, LearningPatterns, Covid-19PandemicDOI: https://doi.org/10.47766/itqan.v12i1.408Vol. 12 No.2 (2021) pp. 299-322
