This research entitled “An Analysis of Quality and Level Used By Teacher in
Reading Comprehension Test at The Tenth Grade of Islamic Senior High
School (MAN) 3 North Aceh ( A Descriptive Qualitative Research )”.
Education as a key to improve the quality of human resources by incresing,
mastering and developing science itself. Teachers should be responsible for
teaching, guiding and evaluating their students. Bloom’s Taxonomy the most
popular system for classifyng questions and divide into lower-higher order such as
remember (C1), understand (C2), apply (C3), analyze (C4), evaluate (C5) and
create (C6). Reading comprehension is ability to understand the factual
information presented in a passage of the text what has been read. There are four
levels of reading comprehension: literal, interpretive, evaluative, and creative. The
problems of this research what kind of levels used by teacher in examination test
of reading comprehension and what kind of qualities used by teacher in
examination test of reading comprehension. The purposes of the research to know
the levels used by teacher in examination test of reading comprehension and to
know qualities used by teacher in examination test of reading comprehension. To
obtain the data the researcher used descriptive qualitative as a method. The
researcher is also use analysis documentation and analysis interview as a support
the document data which choose documentation sheet and interview guide as an
instruments of this research. The subject of research was English examination test
of tenth grade of Islamic Senior High School (MAN) 3 North Aceh. The result in
this research was qualities and levels used by teacher in examination test of
reading comprehension is the questions being tested in mixed classifiying (as the
medium’s quality) even it more in the low category. in the twelfth’s total items
that found the dominant cognitive thinking and levels of reading comprehension
category was in the form of C1 (remember) and literal level with appeared five
times from all the classification’s question number of reading comprehension
examination test. The second rank was in the form of C2 (comprehend), C4
(analyze), interpretive and critical level with appeared three times each total of the
test. The third rank was C5 (evaluate) and creative level with appeared once each
total of the test.
