AN ANALYSIS OF TEACHER’S DIFFICULTIES IN TEACHING SPEAKING BY USING CARTOON MOVIE (A Case Study at Eleventh grade Student of SMK Ulumuddin Islamic Boarding School)

This thesis entitle “ An Analysis of Teachers’ Difficulties in Teaching
Speaking By Using Cartoon Movie” a casestudy at eleventh grade of SMK
Ulumuddin Islamic Boarding School, Lhokseumawe. Teaching speaking is one of
the most essential in learning English, which must be learned by those who want
to master English well. The problem related to the teacher who got some
difficulties when teaching learning process. Based on reason, the researcher
formulates the research problem as follow: (1). What kinds of difficulties are
faced by teacher in teaching speaking by using cartoon movie? (2). What are the
factors of difficulties faced by teacher in teaching speaking by using cartoon
movie? The objective of this research are to find out kinds of difficulties faced by
teacher in teaching speaking by using cartoon movie and to find out it’s factors. Qualitative were used in this research is the caracteria of case study. The
technique that used in collect the data are observasion and interview with the
teacher, it’s done to get the data more accurate. The result of this research showed
that the teacher cannot control classroom management well, then the teacher hard
to apply cartoon movie in teaching speaking because the students did not
understant the cartoon movie. It’s happened because they not pay attention
enough to the teacher and also lack of interest. Internal factors, included too hight
of K-13 demand, the students were lack of interest and enthusiasm. External
factors, included lack of vocabularry, lazy to bring the dictionarry and buzy with
their own activities.
