This research entitled “Improving Students’ Ability in Mastering Question
Tags By Using Active Knowledge Sharing Strategy at SMPN 2 Lhokseumawe.
This research was conducted to solve problem meting students and teacher related to
teaching learning in mastering question tag. The purposes of this research were to
discribe the implementation of active knowledge sharing strategy in improving
students ability in mastering question tag and to describe the students improvement of
students ability on question tag by using active knowledge sharing strategy. The
researcher applied qualitative research by using active knowledge sharing strategy. It
began with the preliminary, planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. To
collect the data the researcher used some instrument such as observation sheet for
teacher and observation sheet for the students, and test for students question tags skill
in cycle 1 and cycle 2. The data were analysis in two ways; qualitative and

quantitative. The implementation of active knowledge sharing strategy is very
effective in teaching question tag. The students can share knowledge with their
friends, and they created the situation of the class active and comfortable. The
students and the teacher encourage each other, and the teacher motivates the students
and helps the teaching learning process. The result of the research showed that
students’ average score of pre-test was 46.07. then after applying the strategy for two
meetings, the students’ score become 48.75. It did not meet the criteria of success yet.
So, it continued to the second cycle. The result of post-test in second cycle was found
in the level of good criteria, with average score 99.28. it means that active knowledge
sharing strategy could improve the students’ ability in mastering question tag. It
indicates that improving students’ ability in mastering question tags by using active
knowledge sharing strategy was successful.
