THE APPLICATION OF CARD SORT IN TEACHING ACTION VERB (A Quasi-Experimental Research at Seventh Grade Students of MTsN Lhoksukon)
XMLThis thesis entitled ”The Application of Card Sort in Teaching Action
Verb (A Quasi Experimental Research at Seventh Grade Students of
MTsN Lhoksukon) . The researcher conducted the research because the
students at seventh grade of MTsN Lhoksukon were difficult to understand
and did not know the meaning of words, they could not answer the questions
of teacher, and also felt bored in learning process. Therefore, the researcher
thought that Card Sort was one of the effective strategy to use in teaching
vocabulary, because Card Sort helped children to maximize their potential for
learning and helped students to memorize, so it would make students enjoy,
fun and happy during learning process. The purpose of this research was to
find out whether Card Sort effective or not in teaching Action Verb. In this
research, the researcher took two classes as sample; those were VII5
as
experimental group that consists of 35 students and VII6
as control group that
consists 35 students. The sample was taken by simple random sampling
technique lottery. In experimental group, the researcher used Card Sort in
teaching action verb while in control group the researcher did not used Card
Sort in teaching action verb. The data was collected through pre-test, post-test
score, then the researcher analyzed it by using statistical formula ttest. Thus,
after calculating, it was gotten the tcount= 23,42 and ttable =1,6675. As criteria if
tcount > ttable , so, Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. In this research was
23,42 > 1,6675, so Ha (alternative hypothesis)was accepted and Ho (null
hypothesis) was rejected. Therefore, the researcher concluded that using the
Application Card Sort in Teaching Action Verb at seventh grade students in
MTsN Lhoksukon was effective.
