A COMPARATIVE STUDY BETWEEN MULTIMEDIA PROGRAM STUDENT AND DESIGNER PROGRAM STUDENTS’ ABILITY IN MASTERING READING COMPREHENSION AT SMKN 2 LHOKSEUMAWE
XMLThis thesis entitled “A Comparative Study between Multimedia Students and
Designer Students’ Ability in Mastering Reading Comprehension at SMKN 2
Lhokseumawe”. Mastering reading comprehension is the most important aspect in
learning style. Many students feel hard to mastering reading comprehension
because there are many difficult words. The writer interested to compare
Multimedia students program and Designer students program in mastering reading
comprehension. The writer focused research on the differences achievement
between Multimedia and Designer students: based on hypothesis there is
significant difference of achievement between Multimedia student and Designer
student in mastering reading comprehension at SMKN 2 Lhokseumawe. In order
to prove hypothesis, the writer conducted a research on second grade students of
SMKN 2 Lhokseumawe. The writer choose two classes used as sample of this
research: they were 22 students of Multimedia and 22 students of Designer. The
writer gave the test in multiple choices from reading comprehension test. It was
showed by the difference of mean score of both groups, Multimedia means score
is 64.09 and Designer means score is 49.54. Based on result t-score, it was 5.68
and t-table at the significant level 0f 0.05 was 1.682. It means that t-score > t-table
(5.68 > 1.682). It can be concluded that alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted
because the t-score was higher than t-table. Meanwhile, Null hypothesis (Ho) was
rejected. It means there is significant difference of achievement between
Multimedia student and Designer student in mastering reading comprehension at
SMKN 2 Lhokseumawe.
