Vocabulary is the most essential in learning English, which must be learned by
those who wants to master English well. Vocabulary also plays an important role
in the target languange it is necessary to the teacher to pay serious attention to the
students to remember many kinds of words. The teacher does not only pursue the
curriculum target but he/she also has to use the variety ways, methods or
procedures of teaching and learning process in order to avoid the students fell
bored in this case, while conducting his reseach, he used to find that majority of
students who the eager to master vocabulary it is not an easy way. Therefore, the
researcher wrote this thesis in title of The Effectiviness of Using Hidden Picture
Game to the Students Vocabulary Mastery is a way he had found during
conducting his research. The experiment of teaching vocabulary by Using Hidden
Picture Game was conducted at MAS Ulumuddin Uteunkot Cunda, the population
of this research was the first year students. The sample of the research were 50
students, 25 students in class VII-1 as experimental group and 25 students in class
VII-2 control group. In this case the researcher used sample random sampling
(SRS). In the experimental group, the researcher used Hidden Picture Game in
teaching vocabulary, mean while in the control group did not teach by using
Hidden Picture Game but conventional method in teaching vocabulary. After
teaching learning process for five meeting the researcher gave post test to the
student. The result of the test shown that the students achievement in control
group was lower than experimental group this was proved by the mean score got
by the students in experimental group 76,16 while in the control group 67,5.
While the obtained t-test score 2, 62 was bigger than the critical value 1,66 for
degree of freedom from 50 sample at the level of significance 0,05. It means that
the difference between two groups were significant. Hypothesis (Ho) was rejected
and hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Based on the result of research above, it can be
concluded that Using Hidden Picture Game effective in teaching vocabulary
