PATTERNS OF ORGANIZATIONAL COMMUNICATION TO EFFECT THE DISTRIBUTION OF INFORMATION
XMLAbstract
This research aims to describe organizational communication patterns in the
effective dissemination of information. This research use desciptive
qualitative approach. The method used is the literature study method. Based
on this method, the authors collected data using the note-taking technique to
review documentation in the form of books, literature and other relevant
library materials. This research uses Karl Weick's theory of organizational
information, which develops an approach to explain a process of how
organizations collect, manage, and use information which then re-transmits
the information to organizational members. The results showed that
organizational communication patterns are the channels used in the
dissemination of information among members of the organization and
greatly determine the effectiveness of achieving organizational goals.
Organizational communication patterns consist of wheel patterns, circle
patterns, chain patterns, Y patterns and star patterns or all channel patterns.
Meanwhile, the dissemination of information within the organization occurs
in two streams of information, namely simultaneous message dissemination
and sequential message distribution.
