SIMBOL NONVERBAL PADA BUDAYA TUTUR ETNIS GAYO DI KABUPATEN ACEH TENGAH (KAJIAN SEMIOTIKA ETIKA KOMUNIKASI ISLAM)
XMLAbstract
This study aims to analyze the nonverbal symbols of Islamic communication
ethics in Gayo ethnic speech culture in Central Aceh Regency. This research is a
type of qualitative research with an ethnographic approach to communication.
Secondary data in this study in the form of speech that is used in the daily life of
the Gayo ethnic group in Central Aceh District, which originated from
respondents, namely traditional leaders, community leaders, and the community.
Besides that it also comes from the context or customary activities. Data
collection techniques are carried out by interviewing, observing, and documenting
techniques. The research instrument used was a list of questions and a list of
observations. Whereas, data validity techniques are carried out using source
triangulation techniques. The results of the study can be concluded that the
nonverbal symbols of Islamic communication ethics in Gayo ethnic speech in
Central Aceh Regency are related to messages in the form of gesture, haptik
(touch), parabahasa (tone and intonation), and physical appearance (clothing )
Meanwhile, the application of Islamic communication ethics in Gayo ethnic
speech in Central Aceh District is based on Gayo cultural values, namely
mukemel (shame) as the main value. Adat Gayo is based on Islamic sharia. Thus,
cultural values motivate Gayo ethnic groups to do good things (noble character).
