This research is entitled “The Correlation Between Exraversion Students’ Personality and
Their Speaking Ability to The Third Year Student of MTsS Nurul Iman Islamic Boarding
School Cot Girek”. The objectives of the study were to find out whether or not there was
significant correlation between extraversion personality and students’ speaking ability. The
subject of this research was The Third Year Students of MTsS Nurul Iman Cot Girek in
academic year 2017/2018. The object of this research was students’ extraversion personality
and their speaking ability. The method of this research was corelational research. The sample
of this research was 20 students. In this case, the researcher used the random sampling
technique. In collecting data, the researcher used questionnaire and speaking test. In
analysing data, the researcher used pearson product moment. The result of questionnaire
showed 7 students categorized into above average extrovert, 11 students categorized into
average and 2 students categorized into above average introvert. The result of the students’
English speaking achievement showed 1 student in poor level, 3 students in fair level, 6
students in good level, and 10 students in excellent level. The analysis was found out that
there was significant correlation between extraversion personality and students’ speaking
ability. It can be proved that tscore was 5,995 and ttable was 2,101. It means that tscore > ttable. The alternative hypthesis (Ha) was accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. it means
there is a significant correlation between students’ extraversion personality and their speaking
ability.
