This thesis entitled “The Implementing Of Peer Tutoring In Teaching
Writing Narrative Text” (A Quasy experimental research at the tenth
grade student of SMKN 3 Lhokseumawe)” Writing is the most difficult
skill to learn and to master, because writing is an active or productive skill so
that students who are learning writing have to learn how to find ideas, and
express them into writing. In fact, most students hardly ever followed the
writing stages in their writings. They often copied texts from the students
who were good at English subject. Sometimes they just rearranged jumbled
sentences given by the teacher or taken from the texbooks. The problem of
this research “Is there any significant effect in achievement between the
students who are taught writing narrative text using peer tutoring strategy
from those who are taught by using conventional strategy” the purpose of
this research was to know significant effect of using peer tutoring strategy in
teaching writing narrative text. The population of this research was the tenth
grade students of SMKN 3 Lhokseumawe. In this research the sample was
taken by simple random sampling by lotteries technique. There were 50
students, 25 student in the class X AKA1 as experimental group. And 25
students in the class X AKA2 as control group. In the experimental group,
the researcher use Peer Tutoring strategy in teaching writing narrative text,
and used conventional strategy in control group. the researcher thought that
Peer Tutoring strategy was one of the effective strategies to use in teaching
writing narrative text because Peer Tutoring strategy help student to
maximize their potential for learning. This research conducted four
meetings. The data was analyze by using t-test formula.Based on the result
and the hypothesis authentication and by using t-test in significant level α =
0,05, it was obtained that tscore > ttable, it was 3,18 > 1,66. As the result, (Ha)
was accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. On the other word,
there was any effectiveness of implementing peer tutoring strategy in
teaching writing narrative text.
