THE USE OF CRAZY PROFESSOR READING GAME TO TEACH READING COMPREHENSION TO THE TENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMA N 1 TANAH JAMBO AYE
XMLThis thesis entitled “The Use of Crazy Professor Reading Game to Teach Reading
Comprehension of The Tenth Grade in SMA N 1 Tanah Jambo Aye” reading is a
process of looking at a written or printed symbol and translating it into an
appropriate sound. The purpose of this research is to know whether there are any
significantly differences in achievement between the students who are taught
reading skill through the crazy professor reading game from those who are taught
by using conventional method. This research was conducted in SMA N 1 Tanah
Jambo Aye using quasi experimental research. The population of this research
was all students of the tenth grade students of SMA N 1 Tanah Jambo Aye. The
samples of this research consist of two classes that was taken using simple
random sampling technique, those are: class X Mia 2 that consist of 28 students
was chosen as experimental group and class X Iis 1 that consist of 28 students was
chosen as control group. The total number of the sample was 56 students. The
instrument used to collect the data was test; pre-test and post-test. The data was
analyzed by using t-test formula. The result of the research showed that the score
of t-test was 11.02 while the score of t-table with the significance level at 0.05 and
df = 54 was 1.67. It meant that t-test was higher than t-table that was 11.02 > 1.67.
Based on criteria of hypothesis, the researcher concluded that the alternative
hypothesis (Ha) of this research was accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) was
rejected.
